- Per-key spend controls: each API key can carry its own spend cap (maxSpend), rate limit (rateLimit), and per-minute token ceiling (tokenLimitTpm)
- Balance exhaustion behavior: API calls return HTTP 402 until the wallet is topped up or plan coverage applies
- Refunds: purchased credits are non-refundable once added to your balance, except for billing errors on our side or where required by law; bonus credits (the promotional top-up credit described below) and payment-channel fees are not refundable either
- Promotional credit scope: promotional top-up credit granted with a wallet top-up is spendable on API usage only; it cannot purchase Pro, Max, or Ultra subscriptions, which draw on the base balance — the checkout page is the source of truth for any running promotion
- Reasoning / thinking tokens: output produced by thinking or reasoning models (for example the claude-*-thinking variants) is billed at that model's posted output rate and counted in the request's total token count; there is no separate reasoning price line
- Cancelled streams: on POST /v1/chat/completions and POST /v1/responses a request the client cancels mid-stream is recorded as HTTP 499 client_cancelled and billed only for the usage the upstream reported — the gateway waits up to five seconds for the final usage, then releases the reserved balance; a cancelled request is never retried or failed over, and the trace in Dashboard → Logs shows the billed tokens
- Top-up methods: card and Alipay through one hosted checkout, plus USDT/USDC stablecoins — rails, networks, and minimums are listed in the payment facts

- Trust boundary: Router One is not a bank, wallet, exchange, custodian, payment processor, financial advisor, or trading system
